Dr. Kelly Graham welcomes you to Dunrobin Family Chiropractic!

Chiropractic is one of the best things that happened to me. Thankfully I found it in time – my health and my life would have been so different!

Welcome! Firstly let me thank you for visiting our website to learn more about chiropractic. Please allow me to share some of my journey with you.

My Journey to Chiropractic

I went to the local high school and was part of the first graduating class of West Carleton. I was fascinated with the miracles of the human body and knew that I wanted to study medicine.

I went to the University of Guelph and received an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics. I was planning to attend medical school to become an orthopedic surgeon. While at Guelph, I suffered from chronic ear infections and took several rounds of antibiotics. Medical doctors could not explain why these infections kept happening. During my worst episode, I could not hear out of my left ear because my ear drum had ruptured and I could not feel the left side of my face due to pressure on my facial nerve from the infection. At the same time I played for the women’s varsity rugby team and injured my back. I was a mess, at an all time low and only 20 years old!

I tried several therapies which did not help. I was not interested in only masking my back pain with drugs and I did not want any more antibiotics. I was discouraged and frustrated when a close friend of mine suggested that I try chiropractic.

I was really skeptical and extremely nervous, but I soon experienced relief and improvements in my well-being beyond what I thought was possible. I was eager to volunteer and learn at the local chiropractor’s office.

That back injury is one of the best things that happened to me! I soon decided that a natural and hands on healing approach that encompasses overall well-being was the best suited career for me. My path completely changed directions and before I knew it I was accepted to Chiropractic School. During chiropractic school my ear infections completely stopped. The only thing that was different was that I was receiving a lot of chiropractic adjustments and I came to know and experience that the chiropractic adjustment helps to keep your nervous system functioning optimally. And why is that important? Because your nervous system controls EVERY single cell and system in your body. I have never looked back!

A Great Chiropractic Education

I thoroughly enjoyed Chiropractic College. I love learning and especially enjoyed the challenges associated with the extremely rigorous Doctor of Chiropractic program. I was a teaching assistant for several classes along way. I graduated magna cum laude with my Doctor of Chiropractic from the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Illinois in 1999.

In addition I have completed post graduate studies in pediatric and pregnancy care. Taking care of babies is a special love of mine. I am also certified in Orthotic diagnosis and therapy and in the Webster Technique which is utilized in the treatment of pregnant women. The Webster Technique is very effective in aiding better fetal position in the womb (minimizing breech presentation) and leads to better births.

A Strong Chiropractic Philosophy

I am very confident and passionate about the chiropractic contribution to optimal health. Choosing chiropractic has been a miracle for me and the chiropractic lifestyle is very natural for me- I have always known that health comes from within- and not from a pill or vaccine, and the better we treat our bodies, the better our bodies work. I practiced as an associate doctor while I juggled having my 5 babies and maintained my practice. In 2012 I decided that it was the perfect time to open my own clinic and Dunrobin Family Chiropractic opened its doors in April 2012. It is a dream come true for me and it is a privilege to serve my very own community.

My mission is to transform the health of my community one family at a time through education on lifestyle choices which include chiropractic as well as eating, thinking and moving well.

I feel extremely fortunate to be able to serve patients and to witness the body’s healing ability. Helping others is a gift and I am very proud to be a chiropractor. I continue to avidly build on my education through courses in the most current research and techniques in chiropractic care.

A Healthy Background

Dr. Graham and family

Dr. Graham and family on a ski trip.

I am very much at home in my hometown of Dunrobin. My husband David and I have chosen to raise our family in this incredible, family orientated country village. We have been blessed with 5 beautiful “well-adjusted” children, 4 sons, Samuel, Aubry, Brennan and Luca and 1 daughter Noella. They have all received chiropractic on a regular basis since they were born! I hope that as you learn more about chiropractic you will see the benefit of having not only your nervous system checked, but that of your children as well. As a family we enjoy a holistic and active lifestyle and spend much of our time at local hockey rinks and soccer fields. As a family we eat healthy and mostly organic foods. My kids do complain often about the food that we serve them but in our house it is not an option to not get adjusted, be active or eat healthy foods.

I absolutely walk my talk! I get adjusted regularly not because I have pain, but because I want to be at my maximum potential and be the best and healthiest that I can be. That can only occur with a healthy nervous system. I exercise regularly, I am an avid runner and have done 2 marathons and several half-marathons, play soccer and attempt to play hockey. I want to stay healthy and age gracefully and be able to one day play with my grandkids and enjoy a healthy active retirement.

Enough about me! I look forward to meeting you and your family in person. Give our office a call or click here to email me. Let’s get you started on your path towards better health!
